Ms. Karol Mae Carl, 70, of Burlington, died at GRMC-Klein Center in Burlington, Iowa, on Thursday, July 29, 2010.
Born on December 14, 1939, in Kirkwood, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lawrence Elmer and Kathryn Lucille Wallace Carl.
Ms. Carl was a client of Hope Haven Development Center from 1986 to 2008. Karol was a loving person who enjoyed family, friends, animals, ball games, crafts, drawing, watching TV, McDonalds and Elvis Presley. She was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Larry L. (Barbara) Carl of Burlington, Iowa; one sister, Patricia A. (Larry) Eakins of Ottumwa, Iowa; four nephews, John (Ann) Carl and Paul (Becky) Carl of Burlington, Iowa, Wayne (Meg) Carl of Galesburg, Illinois and Wes (Marcy) Carl of Liberty, Illinois; two nieces, Debbie Eakins Mitra of Lawrence, Kansas and Phyllis (Bob) Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska; eight great-nephews; eight great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew;
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Funeral services for Karol Mae Carl will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Rev. David Plooster will officiate.
Interment will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood, Illinois.
Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
Memorials have been established for Hope Haven Area Development Center and Sunnyside Baptist Church.
