Jerry Zager, 74, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., formerly of Knoxville, died Friday, March 5, 2010, in Arizona.
Mr. Zager was a licensed funeral director and owned and operated Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville and Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville prior to retirement. He was raised in Washington and lived in Knoxville from 1965 to 2005.
Survivors include his companion, Betty Pierce of Prescott Valley; two daughters, Barb Zager of Marshalltown and Maja Clayton of Grinnell; five sons, Scott Zager of Maplewood, Minn., Michael Zager of Prescott Valley, Larry Bertrand of St. Mary's, Ray Bertrand of Knoxville and Dan Zager of Pleasantville;12 grandchildren; one sister, Dolores Burns of Iowa City; and two brothers, Mike Zager of Knoxville and Steve Zager of Burlington.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Zager will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Knoxville Save Our Stadium Fund and Pleasantville High School Scholarship Fund.
