John Danker

John Ellsworth Danker, 65, of Fort Madison died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at his home. He had been sick for the last two years but serious the past two months.

Born April 5, 1944, in San Rafael, Calif., he was the son of William A. and Nellie M. Horn Danker. He married Mary Pauly.

Mr. Danker was self-employed most of his life. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Danker and Rob Danker, both of West Point; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Simmons of Fort Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, one in infancy.

His body has been cremated.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a memorial service for Mr. Danker at 10:30 a.m. at Victory Faith Community Church in Fort Madison with the Rev. Roger Welty officiating. Burial will be in Soldier's Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established.

King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison is in charge of arrangements.
