Clyde Albert Price, 91, of Quincy, Ill., formerly of Keokuk, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
Born June 27, 1919, in Warsaw, Ill., he was the son of John Sterling and Barbara Ann Buttgen Price. On March 23, 1931, he married Alma Irene Bresnahan in Keokuk. She died May 2, 1994.
Mr. Price worked in the plumbing and pipe fitting industry. He operated his own greenhouse for several years. He served as a Seabee in the Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 125 for 61 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Craig Price, Mike Price and Steve Price, all of Keokuk; several grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk where family will receive friends.
The graveside funeral with military rites will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Keokuk National Cemetery with the Rev. Sylvia Tillman officiating.
A memorial has been established for Keokuk VFW.
