Where's the peace?

Yesterday, July 19, was the first day I awoke in a peaceful manner after all the fireworks being set off in our town.

Many calls were placed by Burlington residents to the Police Department trying to get some control and some peace to no avail. The culprits weren't even told to surrender their fireworks, but left to engage their stockpile after the police left the scene. They weren't even given citations. We were left to baby-sit many of these idiots for weeks afterwards.

This is the month of hell for the Police Department and for concerned property owners. We need to make this a more safe month. Our police department needs to issue the citations and remove the fireworks at the scene. This game needs to end with additional citations and the amount climbs or number three strikes and they are out on their way to jail. Don't do nothing, do something! Go to City Council and be heard.
