Children's future

Why is the idea of closing Corse School and cutting activity and academic budgets even a thought right now? The real problem that should be looked at is, why are we building two new middle schools in the middle of a well-advertised recession?

I have the answer: stop building the second middle school and concentrate on building our children's minds and academic abilities.

No one has the right to take educational opportunities four children. Are we really going to stand by and let the school board close perfectly functioning schools and cause crowded and unfavorable environments just to make up for their poor ability to make decisions?

It is just like the saying goes, you give a man a fish he eats for a day, you teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. Yet in this case we gave the man money and he spent for a day and now he is going to run away rather than fixing what he has destroyed.

Years from now when you wonder why our current generation is not so inclined to reach its goals, you may look back at this situation and realize one group of individuals destroyed the future of well- deserving and capable children.

I will not let my children's futures be decided by the school board and superintendent that will not be here, nor care in a few months. We have to do what is right. Stop building the middle school on Mason Road and leave well enough alone.
