Cora Hamm and Nicholas McPherson, both of Columbia, S.C., were married May 22 in an outdoor ceremony at the bride's parents' home on the Ashley River in Charleston, S.C.

Parents of the couple are James and Renee Hamm of Charleston and Roger and Sandy McPherson of Fort Madison.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of West Ashley High School in Charleston and a 2006 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of arts degree. She is a graduate student at the University of South Carolina studying health care administration.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He is an electronic security expert for ADT.
